In June 2014, Zoo Outreach Organization observed two United Nations Environment Programme UNEP days: World Environment Day (5 June), World Day to Combat Desertification (17 June) and a UN designated day World Ocean Day, (08 June). The World Environment Day was held at Sangamam Matriculation School, 250 students and teachers participated. Another programme was held at the VOC Park Mini zoo, 70 students and teachers from Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Chinnavedampatti took part. On 08 June the World Ocean Day observed at the VOC Park Mini Zoo, thirty-nine (39) nursing graduate students and four lecturers from JK College of Nursing participated. Twenty-seven students and 3 teachers from Anupparpalayam and Peelamedu Corporation schools participated in the World Day to Combat Desertification celebration at VOC Park Mini zoo on 17 June.
